Keziah Jones in concert at Le MeM in Rennes on October 2, 2026. A Nigerian guitarist who passed through London, he has shaped a singular blufunk—between funk, blues and soul—with a percussive guitar style that has become his signature. From the sidewalks of the British capital to stages around the world, he made his mark with Blufunk Is a Fact (1992), followed by African Space Craft, Liquid Sunshine, Black Orpheus and Nigerian Wood. On stage, his warm voice meets crisp riffs, sharp syncopations and stripped-down grooves, sometimes broken up by more melodic passages. His guitar snaps with slap, pounding the rhythm as much as it carries the harmonies, giving each piece a direct, physical pulse. The concert emphasizes this blend of rhythmic tension and intimacy, driven by compositions that wander between Lagos and London, from his early years to more recent songs.
