Anamanaguchi

Anamanaguchi will play Cirque Royal, Brussels on May 17, 2026. The New York quartet — Peter Berkman, Ary Warnaar, James DeVito and Luke Silas — pairs guitars, bass and drums with electronics rooted in chiptune, bitpop and indie rock. From the EP Power Supply (2006) and Dawn Metropolis (2009) they developed a sound where arcade melodies and digital textures converge with band energy. Their breakthrough came with the soundtrack for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game (2010), followed by the more pop‑oriented Endless Fantasy (2013) and the more vocal‑led [USA] (2019). Live, the focus is on tempo, a tight rhythm section and bright lead lines, with a constant link to gaming culture and online scenes. Along the way they have collaborated with Hatsune Miku, Meesh, Hana, 8485 and Joseph Trapanese, and composed for projects such as the game Capsule Silence XXIV and the series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (2023). The set balances the boundary between band and 8‑bit aesthetics, driven by riffs, pixel textures and melodies with game DNA.
