Info
On 29 June 2026 at Teatro Romano in Verona, White Lies bring their dark, melodic take on post-punk to Contaminazioni Musicali – Estate Teatrale Veronese. Formed in Ealing in 2007, the trio of Harry McVeigh, Charles Cave and Jack Lawrence-Brown first made noise with the single Death and the debut To Lose My Life..., then pushed their palette with Ritual and Big TV, where synth textures stepped up beside the guitars. Friends and Five sharpened that mix of concise song structures, a driving low end and McVeigh’s baritone, set to lyrics with a reflective edge. With As I Try Not to Fall Apart in 2022, the band stayed the course, folding in crisp hooks and cooler atmospheres built for the stage.
Live, they thread bass-led tension, tight drums and spacious keys under vocals that cut clean through the mix, moving fluently from early staples to newer tracks. It’s a set that pivots between urgency and nuance, letting the contrasts breathe without losing pace. A focused tour of their catalogue in a setting that suits their balance of shadow and clarity.
