UK dubstep producer Joker returns to Barcelona with the Azadi Sound System at La Nau on 3 April, 22h-3h.
A DJ and producer from Bristol, Joker is associated with the city's "purple sound." Emerging in the mid-2000s, he reshaped dubstep with a blend of heavy sub-bass and glossy synth leads. His melodic approach contrasted with the darker minimalism of early dubstep and gained recognition within the UK bass scene.
Since then, he has released tracks such as "Juggernaut" and "Tears" (with Skrillex), as well as earlier works like "Purple City."
Azadi Sound selectors and Overtone residents open the night, covering dub, grime, UK garage and UK techno before Joker's set.
