On July 31, 2026 at the Théâtre de la Mer in Sète, Robert Finley and Fantastic Negrito meet for an evening where blues, soul and rock answer one another, carried by two distinctly textured voices.
Robert Finley arrives from Louisiana with songs steeped in lived experience. Long a street musician and discovered late in life, he has followed up with albums shaped alongside Dan Auerbach, from Goin’ Platinum and Sharecropper’s Son to Black Bayou. On stage, his warm, raspy voice locks onto the guitars and brass, moving between bayou blues, Southern soul, flashes of rock’n’roll and ballads that tell of the road and family. Direct songwriting, a sense of rhythm that takes its time, and that gospel grain inherited from the churches of his Louisiana.
Based in Oakland, Fantastic Negrito has revived his career by blending gritty blues, soul and rock impulses. From The Last Days of Oakland to Have You Lost Your Mind Yet? and White Jesus Black Problems, he probes African American tradition and intersects it with a contemporary sound: taut riffs, tight bass, psychedelic keyboards and gospel backing vocals. Live, the tension rises and falls, from whisper to shout, over an incisive groove where intimate confession meets social chronicle.
