Ólafur Arnalds

Ólafur Arnalds will take over Salle Pleyel on 9 and 10 October 2026 with Falling Apart Together, 18 attempts to abolish distance. The Icelandic composer offers a hybrid concert in which piano, strings and electronics answer one another. Conceived as a journey in successive layers, the live show lingers on the protective shells we build, the moments they falter, and what is revealed when we allow ourselves to be seen a little.

Surrounded by a team of musicians and sound artisans, Arnalds blends unreleased material and revisited pieces, from ambient breaths to piano motifs that settle in, layered with electronic textures drawn from his parallel projects. The clear line of re:member and Some Kind of Peace is still present, shifted toward a more direct writing style attentive to listening and exchange. The set unfolds in 18 tableaux, each a way of narrowing the gap between artists and audience, between acoustic and machines, between isolation and the collective. A stage experience that favors simple gestures and shared humanity.
