Sacred Reich

On 31 July 2026 at the Lido in Berlin, Sacred Reich will return to Germany with their uncompromising thrash metal. Founded in the mid‑80s in Phoenix, Arizona, the US band combines politically and socially grounded lyrics with a direct, fast playing style and a taste for sarcastic edges. It belongs to the second wave of thrash that shaped the scene in the late 80s and early on took clear stances on society, inequality and the environment.

Fronted by bassist and vocalist Phil Rind, with Wiley Arnett on guitar, the quartet made its mark with Ignorance (1987), sharpened its profile with the EP classic Surf Nicaragua (1988), and opened up its sound on The American Way (1990) to more groove and mid‑tempo. Independent (1993) and Heal (1996) followed, before the band took a break in 2000. Since reuniting in 2006, Sacred Reich have been back on European stages regularly; Awakening (2019) marked their return to the studio and brought them full circle to the heavy thrash of their early days. Live, the group presents material from 1987 to 2019: fast riffing, distinctive grooves, and lyrics that address without beating around the bush the issues that have driven them from the start.
