Info

On July 5, 2026, Mariposa Folk Festival takes over Tudhope Park in Orillia with a bill that bridges folk storytelling, southern soul and indie songcraft.

Steve Earle steps in as a master songwriter shaped by country and folk, with a rock and bluegrass streak never far away. Expect road‑worn narratives, twang and electric grit trading places with stripped acoustic moments, the kind of songs that travel from honky‑tonk pulses to front‑porch hush without losing their bite.

St. Paul & The Broken Bones bring a brass‑lit soul engine from Alabama. Built on tight grooves, keys and a punchy horn section, their sound nods to classic southern soul while opening into psyched‑tinged textures, gospel inflections and R&B sway, all carried by Paul Janeway’s elastic, high‑flying voice.

Vancouver’s Dan Mangan leans into intimate indie folk and folk rock. A warm baritone, finely drawn lyrics and subtle arrangements move between hush and lift, from bare acoustic frames to layered strings, choral shades and gentle electronics, always anchored by clear, close‑to‑the‑chest writing.

Loviet joins the lineup to round out the day with a fresh contrast on the Mariposa stage.
