Het Zesde Metaal - Even tussen ons

Het Zesde Metaal brings Even tussen ons to Groningen: on 5 March 2026 the band will play at SPOT/De Oosterpoort. Around singer and songwriter Wannes Cappelle, the five-piece constructs songs in West Flemish, with stories drawn from everyday life and images from the countryside. The group moves between indie, folk and a restrained form of rock; sparse guitars, keyboards and percussion leave room for the lyrics, with rhythms that often remain held back.

Cappelle’s narrative tone slides from light to dark without fuss; choruses reveal themselves slowly and the dynamics grow in small steps. From Het langste jaar to Ploegsteert, Nu of nooit ooit and Skepsels the sonic palette shifts subtly each time, while language and detail remain the compass. Years on club and festival stages in Belgium and the Netherlands have made the performance compact and direct. Even tussen ons aims for closeness: less ornamentation, more focus and room to breathe. At SPOT/De Oosterpoort you can hear how the West Flemish words weave through spacious melodies, carried by a band that works well together.
