Exclusief Tuinconcert Wibi Soerjadi

On 16 August 2026, pianist Wibi Soerjadi will perform a garden concert at Villa Peckedam in Diepenheim. At a grand piano outdoors he returns to the heart of his repertoire: the nineteenth‑century Romantic idiom. The programme brings together Liszt, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Schumann with his own compositions and his characteristic transcriptions of orchestral themes for solo piano. His playing, shaped at Dutch conservatories and rooted in an Indonesian–Dutch background, explores the tension between lyricism and motoric drive, between cantabile lines and clear articulation, suited to the intimacy of the garden setting.

Since the late 1980s Soerjadi has been active on the Dutch concert stage, in solo recitals and with orchestras. That experience informs the structure of his recitals: forms conceived on a grand scale alongside smaller, more hushed moments. In Diepenheim the emphasis is on close listening: a programme that distils the great repertoire into compact scenes, with attention to colour, dynamics and balance, and room for his own voice as composer and arranger.
