Etana

On April 23, 2026, Etana will perform at Metropool in Enschede. The Kingston-born singer, raised between Jamaica and Florida, delivers a mix of roots reggae, soul and R&B with lyrics that address social, spiritual and personal themes. After a brief stint in the girl group Gift she returned to Jamaica, joined the Fifth Element collective and worked with Richie Spice before embarking on a solo career. Her first singles, Wrong Address and Roots, set the tone: warm melodies, sturdy riddims and stories from everyday life, often with attention to women's experiences.

Albums such as The Strong One, Free Expressions, Better Tomorrow and I Rise deepened that sound, from lovers rock influences to more soulful ballads. With Reggae Forever and the EP Dimensions she broadened her collaborations and kept the balance between more assertive tracks and romantic songs. Live, Etana moves smoothly between meditative grooves and tighter one-drop rhythms.
