Ari Abdul

Ari Abdul performs on 25 March 2026 at Melkweg in Amsterdam. The New York–based singer-songwriter pushes her dark alt-pop through indie rock, dream pop and a hint of goth. Since Babydoll in 2022, her signature is immediately recognisable: a subdued, almost whispering voice over saturated guitars and slow rhythms, with dense reverb that steers everything toward shoegaze. In 2023 she gathered that sound on the EP Fallen Angel, where direct, compact songs meet a pronounced visual atmosphere without losing sight of the song itself.

On stage she chiefly emphasizes tension and texture: atmospheric layers that build up, a pulse that slowly swells, lyrics about desire, relationships and an urban melancholy that gets under the skin. Since Fallen Angel she has steadily released new work and sharpened the material for the live set. At Melkweg Abdul brings her EP and recent singles for a show that pulls the intimacy of the studio into the venue, leaving plenty of room for dynamics between tender whispers and raw clouds of guitar.
