Info

On 18 June 2026 Kylesa will play at Patronaat in Haarlem. The band from Savannah, Georgia, forges sludge metal, psychedelic rock and hardcore into compact, driven songs. Around the guitar-and-vocal duo Laura Pleasants and Phillip Cope a sound developed of heavy, cyclical riffs, pulsing patterns and the alternation between female and male vocals. A period with two drummers gave that engine extra drive; that sense of repetition and trance has remained.

The discography reflects that evolution: from the early work via To Walk a Middle Course and Time Will Fuse Its Worth to Static Tensions and Spiral Shadow, where the psychedelic layer becomes more prominent, to the more melodic and atmospheric hues on Ultraviolet and Exhausting Fire. After a hiatus in 2016 Kylesa resumed activity, with Pleasants and Cope joined by a new rhythm section, Roy Mayorga and John John Jesse. In Haarlem the band will once again present its hybrid of sludge and psyche, rooted in punk and DIY, with groove, texture and space for passages that gain extra depth live.
