Yellow Days

On 2 May 2026 Yellow Days performs at Melkweg, Amsterdam. Yellow Days is the stage name of British songwriter and producer George van den Broek, who has been developing his own blend of soul, psychedelic R&B and indie rock with a lo‑fi edge since the mid‑2010s. His smoky voice and harmonies that reference the rhythm and blues of the 1960s and 70s are central to his sound. He first attracted attention with the self‑released EP Harmless Melodies and the track Gap in the Clouds, followed by his debut album Is Everything Okay in Your World? in 2017. A Day in a Yellow Beat (2020) moved his sound toward broader arrangements and more pronounced rhythms; Inner Peace (2023) continues that trajectory.

On stage Yellow Days performs with a band, giving the soul side and the improvisatory character of his songs more space. Expect warm, analogue textures, languid grooves and songs that revolve around melancholy, relationships and the confusion of deferred adulthood. The set draws on his entire catalogue, leaving room for the songs to breathe—just as they were born between home‑studio work and group sessions.
