The Tallest Man On Earth

On 9 May 2026, The Tallest Man On Earth will play at Metropool in Hengelo. Behind that name is Swedish songwriter Kristian Matsson, with his nervy fingerpicking, a grainy voice and songs that strip back to the essentials: guitar and lyrics. Since his debut EP (2006) and Shallow Grave (2008) he has been building an intimate folk style, further deepened on The Wild Hunt (2010) and There’s No Leaving Now (2012). With Dark Bird Is Home (2015) and I Love You. It’s a Fever Dream. (2019) he opened the door to broader arrangements without abandoning the acoustic core. He was later responsible for the cover project Too Late for Edelweiss (2022) and Henry St. (2023), made with producer Nick Sanborn.

Live, Matsson usually performs solo: close to the microphone, the guitar as the driving force, lyrics that set the pace. Expect a set that places early work alongside recent material, with the occasional cover from his latest project. No frills—just songs that move and breathe in the moment.
