Janne Schra

On October 15, 2026 Janne Schra will perform at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen. Since the mid-2000s she has been heard as a singer with a keen ear for songs that weave together pop, light jazz and folk. First with Room Eleven, then as Schradinova with more personal material and the album India Lima Oscar Victor Echo You (2010). From 2013 onward she has released music under her own name, with the self-titled Janne Schra (2013) and PONZO (2015) as cornerstones.

Live, her voice is central: clear, intimate, carried by compact arrangements that rely on interplay and multi-part harmonies rather than ornamentation. The songs move effortlessly between pop and swing, with occasional bossa nova or cabaret touches. Schra often surrounds herself with Dutch musicians from the jazz and pop scenes; that open instrumentation gives the set a flexible sound in which older and newer pieces meld seamlessly.
