Info
Strung Out and Belvedere share the stage on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at The Arrowhead in Calgary, AB. Two generations of fast, melodic punk meet for a set built on speed, precision and tight songwriting.
Formed in the late 1980s in Simi Valley, California, Strung Out blends West Coast melodic punk with a harder edge drawn from metal and hardcore. Fronted by Jason Cruz and driven by a twin‑guitar attack, the band favors quick tempos, clean picking and arrangements that push beyond straight skate punk. Early milestones like Another Day in Paradise (1994), Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues (1996) and Twisted by Design (1998) set the tone, before a darker turn with An American Paradox (2002) and Exile in Oblivion (2004). More recent releases, including Transmission.Alpha.Delta (2015) and Songs of Armor and Devotion (2019), keep the mix of sharp melodies, rapid rhythms and heavier passages.
Hailing from Calgary in the mid‑1990s, Belvedere leans into skate punk and melodic hardcore with brisk tempos, technical riffing and stacked vocal harmonies. Led by singer‑guitarist Steve Rawles, the band has cycled through line‑ups without losing a taste for intricate structures that switch from tight riffs to melodic breaks and crew‑shout choruses. Their catalog spans Because No One Stopped Us (1998), Angels Live in My Town (2000), ’Twas Hell Said Former Child (2003) and Fast Forward Eats the Tape (2004), followed by a return with The Revenge of the Fifth (2016) and Hindsight Is The Sixth Sense (2021).
