Info
Mayflower Madame brings their shadowy psych-gaze and post-punk to Hafenklang in Hamburg on September 3, 2026. Born in Oslo, the band welds reverb-soaked guitars, motorik pulses and a baritone voice into nocturnal atmospheres that drift between cold wave and slow-burn psychedelia. The core duo - Trond Fagernes (vocals, guitar, bass) and Ola J. Kyrkjeeide (drums) - expands on stage into a five-piece, giving the songs more weight and headroom for long builds and surges.
After early releases, the debut album Observed in a Dream (2016) set their blueprint of hypnotic melodies and dark romantic shades. Prepared for a Nightmare (2020) pushed the tension and kraut-leaning momentum further, later revisited in a deluxe edition with extra tracks. The latest chapter, Insight (2024), sharpens the edges with lithe rhythms and layered guitars, and anchors the current setlist.
Live, Mayflower Madame favors progression over rush: themes circle, tighten and open out, with bass and drums holding a steady undercurrent while guitars smear light and shadow on top. Expect a route through Insight alongside choice cuts from the first two albums, played with the measured intensity that has taken the group across European and North American stages.
