Info
Rio-born and now Barcelona-based singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Leo Middea brings his blend of MPB, samba and bossa nova shaded by global influences to Longboat Hall in Toronto on June 2, 2026. Across five albums — Dois (2014), A Dança do Mundo (2016), Vicentina (2020), Beleza Isolar (2020) and Gente (2023) — he has traced different moments of his journey, from intimate songwriting to more rhythmic explorations. On stage, he moves easily from acoustic nuance to driving grooves, with guitar, voice and percussion drawing a line between Brazilian pulse and cosmopolitan colors.
With more than a decade of touring and hundreds of shows across multiple countries, Leo has built a repertoire that travels well: songs that flow, invite chorus, and leave space for subtle shifts in tempo and mood. In 2024 he reached the final of the Portuguese Song Festival, taking second place, and he is now shaping a sixth album recorded live in different parts of the world. This concert connects that new material with highlights from his catalogue, carried by a clear melodic sense and a direct, unadorned delivery.
