On July 1, 2026, at Batschkapp in Frankfurt am Main, Cory Wong brings his precision-cut funk and jazz-honed rhythm to the stage. The Minneapolis guitarist, composer and producer first turned heads with Vulfpeck and The Fearless Flyers, where his percussive right hand and tight voicings shaped a whole band aesthetic. Since then, he’s built a prolific solo path that puts rhythm guitar up front, folding horn sections, crisp hooks and elastic grooves into a sound that nods to jazz, pop and soul.

Live, Wong treats arrangement like a playground: meticulously built parts that leave space for collective improvisation, quick turns and flashes of humor. With the Cory Wong Band he moves between instrumental funk, fusion detours and song-shaped tunes, drawing on albums such as The Optimist, Motivational Music for the Syncopated Soul, The Striped Album and The Lucky One. His collaborative streak—Jon Batiste, Chromeo, Victor Wooten, Billy Strings, Bruce Hornsby and others—feeds that energy on stage, where clean lines and deep pocket drive the whole room.
