Orbit Culture - Death Above Life North American Tour

On February 23, 2026 at Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver, Atlas bring their self-defined northcore to the stage as part of the Death Above Life North American Tour. Formed in Nokia, Finland, the band builds on a metalcore backbone with deathcore weight, post‑metal atmosphere and a distinct Nordic melancholy. After early EPs and a busy run of shows at home, they expanded across Europe and onto festival lineups, shaping a sound that’s both heavy and textured.

Primitive (2018) set the template: low‑tuned guitars, dense, syncopated rhythms and a dialogue between harsh screams and clean vocals, wrapped in ambient layers and subtle electronic touches. With UKKO (2021), Atlas pushed deeper into their roots, weaving Finnish lyrics and themes drawn from Northern imagery and landscapes while keeping a contemporary metalcore frame. On stage, they work that balance with tight grooves, dark melodies and wide, cinematic textures, shifting fluidly from blunt impact to spacious, brooding passages.
