Lloyd Cole

Lloyd Cole returns on June 27, 2026 to Le Bikini in Ramonville‑Saint‑Agne. Born out of Glasgow’s indie scene, he first made his mark with Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, a blend of chiming guitars and precise songwriting, from Rattlesnakes to Mainstream. Later based in the United States, he refined a more intimate solo songwriting voice, somewhere between folk rock, elegant pop and electric ballads, with milestones such as Lloyd Cole, Don’t Get Weird on Me Babe and Love Story.

In concert he works his way through his catalogue without flashy displays, alternating Commotions songs and solo material, carried by a clear voice and spare arrangements. Recent albums, from Standards to Guesswork and then On Pain, introduce electronic touches and more minimalist structures that meld with his guitar songs. At Le Bikini, expect restrained, melodic numbers—sometimes stripped back, sometimes more urgent—where the songwriting remains at the centre.
