Alte Bekannte

Alte Bekannte can be experienced on 20 December 2026 at the Kulturetage in Oldenburg. The Cologne-based a cappella quintet, formed in 2016 from former members of the Wise Guys, consistently relies on five voices: tight harmonies, clear melodies and vocal percussion carry songs that sit between pop, art song and musical cabaret. The lyrics, mostly by Daniel “Dän” Dickopf, focus on everyday life, relationships and social issues, told with dry wit and a keen eye for detail. Live, the band moves effortlessly between driving numbers and quiet ballads, builds its arrangements with precision and lets the voice as the sole instrument carry the entire sound.

The repertoire includes tracks from the albums Wir sind da! (2017), Das Leben ist schön (2019) and Bunte Socken (2021), supplemented by new pieces depending on the program. Expect a blend of winkingly told stories and reflective moments, with timing, intonation and text work at the center.
