Cem Adrian

On 11 April 2026, Cem Adrian will perform at the Metropol Theater Bremen. The singer-songwriter, who grew up in Edirne and has Bosnian roots, moves between alternative pop, experimentation and intimate songcraft. Having started early as a radio presenter and singer, he was discovered in the early 2000s by the pianist Fazıl Say and invited as a Special Student to the conservatory of Bilkent University in Ankara. Since his debut Ben Bu Şarkıyı Sana Yazdım (2005), he has shaped a soundscape of dark ballads, Anatolian folk echoes, electronic hues and chamber-music atmospheres. With Aşk Bu Gece Şehri Terk Etti (2006) and Emir (2008) he honed clearer song structures, pared-back acoustic arrangements, ambient textures and passages approaching vocal jazz.

Live, Adrian places voice and lyrics at the centre. Mostly in small formations, with room for dynamics and closeness, he combines early pieces with more recent work and projects involving musicians from the classical and jazz scenes. In Bremen this will result in a concentrated set between intimacy, experimental colours and melodic directness — close to the audience, direct and unmediated.
