On March 20, 2026, King King will play at Music Hall Worpswede e.V. in Worpswede. The band around singer and guitarist Alan Nimmo was founded in Glasgow and moves between blues rock, soul and melodic classic rock. Distinctive elements are punchy guitars, warm keyboards and choruses carried by Nimmo’s gritty voice. On albums such as Take My Hand (2011), Standing in the Shadows (2013), Reaching for the Light (2015), Exile & Grace (2017) and Maverick (2020), the group has steadily refined its sound — more rock-oriented in its approach, grounded in a solid blues foundation with subtle gospel and soul hues in the arrangements and backing vocals.

Live, King King rely on clear structures and direct drive: concise songs, room for guitar and keys, and a balance of slower ballads and more energetic numbers. There have been lineup changes over the years, but the artistic direction remains centered on Alan Nimmo.
