On April 24, 2026, Izzy Escobar takes the stage at mikropol in Berlin. The US singer-songwriter of Cuban and Italian descent grew up in Massachusetts, first on the violin and then on the piano — today that piano forms the core of her songs. Her sound moves between pop, soul and R&B, clearly focused on voice and melody. Escobar writes in a personal, direct way; many pieces arise from everyday observations, some developed live, others as quiet sketches at the piano. In the set intimate ballads alternate with more rhythmically driven numbers, without much ornamentation, leaving room for dynamics and storytelling. Since the late 2010s she has released her music digitally while continuing to work out new ideas on stage. Under the title Sunny in London she brings current songs and pared-down versions of older tracks — close to the voice, close to the lyrics, with a subtle shift between introspection and forward momentum.
