On 8 August 2026, Boney M. will take the stage at the Seebühne Bremen. The vocal quartet with Caribbean roots, created by Frank Farian in West Berlin, helped define the shift from Euro-disco to pop with reggae-tinged grooves from the mid-1970s onward. What began as an early studio project quickly produced live hits: "Baby Do You Wanna Bump" opened the door, "Daddy Cool" and the album "Take the Heat Off Me" made the sound known across Europe, and "Sunny" and "Rivers of Babylon" cemented it in the collective memory. In their live set, catchy melodies meet multi-part hooks and driving rhythms — a cross-section covering the period from "Love for Sale" and "Nightflight to Venus" to "Oceans of Fantasy", showing how Boney M. continue to bring their repertoire to the stage today.
Special guests The Weather Girls will also appear. The duo emerged in San Francisco from the gospel and disco milieu around Sylvester and became part of the Hi-NRG club culture in 1982 with "It’s Raining Men." Between soul, disco and R&B, Martha Wash and Izora Armstead developed a distinctive vocal dynamic that was later continued in Germany by Izora Armstead together with her daughter Dynelle Rhodes — with excursions into house and Eurodance. In Bremen, The Weather Girls span the arc from their early Two Tons O’ Fun roots to their 1990s productions, relying on powerful harmonies and club-ready energy.
