Info
Napalm Death bring their grindcore roots to The Pearl in Vancouver on Sunday June 14, 2026. Formed in Birmingham in 1981, the band helped sketch the outlines of the genre with an ultra-fast, abrasive sound fusing hardcore punk and death metal. Their debut Scum (1987) marked a shift in extremity, with the flash of You Suffer becoming a reference point. Since 1989, vocalist Barney Greenway has steered a lineup that folds political engagement and social critique into concise, forceful tracks, from From Enslavement to Obliteration and Harmony Corruption to recent releases like Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism and Resentment Is Always Seismic. On stage, the focus is on urgency, impact and movement.
Primitive Man, from Denver, take the opposite vector: tempos crawl, guitars drown in saturation, and the atmosphere tilts toward doom and sludge with frequent noise incursions. Scorn (2013), Caustic (2017) and Immersion (2020) map out a heavy, suffocating palette, driven by vocals that scrape at the surface. Themes dig into social anger, disillusion and erosion.
Local act Luella opens with a sharp Vancouver hardcore charge, setting a raw tone for the night at The Pearl, Vancouver, BC.
