Sleaford Mods bring their raw, stripped-back post-punk to Toronto, with Jason Williamson’s sharp delivery and Andrew Fearn’s minimal beats. Formed in Nottingham, the duo blends spoken word, punk bite and skeletal hip-hop loops, built on repetitive rhythms and bass figures. Williamson’s lyrics zero in on work, debt and the daily grind across provincial Britain, a voice shaped by the austerity years. Albums like Austerity Dogs, Divide and Exit and English Tapas marked their trajectory, while collaborations with The Prodigy and Billy Nomates broadened their reach. On stage, it’s voice and laptop, no traditional band, a direct setup that keeps the focus on words and pulse.
