Info
Blue Rodeo brings its blend of country rock, folk and melodic pop back to Calgary. Formed in Toronto in the mid-80s around songwriters Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, the band has built a catalogue shaped by close harmonies, ringing guitars and lyrics rooted in relationships and North American backdrops. Early releases like Outskirts (1987), Diamond Mine (1989), Casino (1990) and Lost Together (1992) set the tone, followed by the acoustic tilt of Five Days in July (1993). Palace of Gold (2002) and The Things We Left Behind (2009) deepened the arrangements, while 1000 Arms (2016) and Many A Mile (2021) carried that approach forward.
On stage, Blue Rodeo alternates voices between Cuddy and Keelor, shifting from electric drive to quieter acoustic passages and letting a seasoned band sound do the work. Sets typically move across eras without fuss, balancing newer material with songs that have become staples over time.
Blue Rodeo plays on August 6, 2026 at Grey Eagle, 3777 Grey Eagle Drive, Calgary.
