Les Bodin's « Grandeur nature »

Les Bodin’s return to the stage with Grandeur Nature, 2027 edition. Born in the heart of the countryside, the duo formed by Vincent Dubois and Jean-Christian Fraiscinet built their theatre around Maria, the straight-talking peasant mother, and Christian, her son who stayed on the farm. On stage, their life-size farm becomes the setting for a back-and-forth between tradition, modernity and family tensions, driven by a rural accent and the tight dialogue that have been their hallmark since the 1990s. Originally created outdoors in Touraine and then adapted for the road, the show continues its run while retaining its taste for everyday detail and situational comedy. In Rouen, audiences will find a full-scale farm set, scenes on a human scale, and Maria and Christian’s controlled outbursts. Positioned between popular theatre and an observation of the agricultural world, their writing relies on concrete reference points that nourish the humour and the narrative. Les Bodin’s will be at the Zénith de Rouen on 30 April 2027, extending a rural chronicle that examines small habits and the challenges of the present without exaggeration.
