Les Bodin's « Grandeur nature »

On April 29, 2027, Les Bodin’s take over the Zénith de Rouen in Le Grand-Quevilly with Votez Les Bodin’s Grandeur Nature. Formed by Vincent Dubois and Jean-Christian Fraiscinet, the duo has cultivated since the 1990s a popular theatre rooted in rural France. At its center are their two signature figures: Maria Bodin, a straight-talking countrywoman, and her son Christian, an adult who never left the farm. Through them, the tensions between generations, the village’s little quirks and the clashes with the contemporary world are told.

Originally staged outdoors on a farm in Touraine and later adapted for touring, Grandeur Nature recreates the farm’s world and its micro-dramas, blending situational comedy, a punchy regional accent and razor-sharp dialogue. With Votez Les Bodin’s, the plot takes a slight electoral turn without losing sight of everyday farm life, family arrangements and somewhat stubborn neighbors. It’s a plunge into their favourite playground, where keen observation gives the scenes their flavour and every detail rings true.
