Info

Ibrahim Maalouf brings his new project, Trumpets of Michel Ange, to Danforth Music Hall in Toronto on June 27, 2026. The French-Lebanese trumpeter grew up in France, first taught by his father Nassim Maalouf, then shaped by studies with Maurice André. From conservatories to international stages, he has built a path that moves easily between jazz, classical training and wider pop culture.

Over the years he has collaborated for cinema, theatre and song, while releasing a steady flow of albums that trace his approach to melody and rhythm: from Diasporas and Diachronism to Diagnostic, Illusions, Kalthoum and Red & Black Light. He often works with orchestral formats and collective creations, tours regularly in France and abroad, and invests in transmission projects with young musicians. With his own label, Mi’ster Productions, he also supports releases and partnerships around his music.

On stage, Maalouf focuses on dialogue and movement: themes that travel, grooves that leave space for improvisation, and a trumpet sound that sits at the heart of the set. Trumpets of Michel Ange continues that line, framed for a live room and built for a night where influences meet without fuss.
