Info

The Amity Affliction and August Burns Red stop in Toronto for The Springs Horizons Tour, taking over History on May 10, 2026.

Formed in Gympie in 2003, The Amity Affliction shaped a metalcore/post-hardcore sound built on the contrast between Joel Birch’s unfiltered screams and Ahren Stringer’s melodic lines. From Severed Ties to Not Without My Ghosts, the band has shifted between heavier assaults and atmospheric layers, bringing more electronics and big hooks without losing the punch. Their lyrics speak plainly about mental health, loss and addiction, themes that have become central to their identity on stage and in the studio.

August Burns Red started in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 2003 and carved out a precise, dynamic metalcore approach. JB Brubaker’s detailed guitar work, Matt Greiner’s tight drumming and Jake Luhrs’ vocals drive songs that balance sharp riffs, syncopated rhythms, heavy breaks and more expansive passages. From Messengers and Constellations to Death Below, the group explores intensity and melody with a focus on arrangements and dynamics.

Opening the night, Boundaries from Hartford, Connecticut pushes a dense metallic hardcore sound, all sharp riffs, dissonance and abrupt shifts, from Your Receding Warmth to Burying Brightness.
