Wolfmother « 20th Anniversary Tour »

Wolfmother marks twenty years with a set that looks back without loosening its grip. Formed in Sydney in the early 2000s around singer-guitarist Andrew Stockdale, the band blends heavy, melodic rock with a clear nod to 70s hard rock and psychedelia: thick riffs, fuzz-soaked guitars, retro-leaning keys and a high, cutting vocal upfront. A self-titled EP in 2004 led to the breakout debut album in 2005. After the departures of Chris Ross and Myles Heskett in 2008, Stockdale pushed on with a renewed lineup for Cosmic Egg in 2009, bigger in sound and scope. A solo detour followed, then the self-released New Crown in 2014 and Victorious in 2016, which tightened the writing around direct, riff-first songs. On stage, the project stays lean and focused, stretching grooves and letting the guitar do the talking.
