Info

Canadian singer-songwriter Hawksley Workman brings his distinct blend of rock, pop, cabaret and folk to The Starlite Room in Edmonton on February 23, 2026. Emerging from Toronto’s indie scene at the end of the 1990s, he has built a catalog marked by expressive vocals, sharp dynamic contrasts and lyrics that balance intimacy, poetic images and a touch of dark humor. Early releases For Him and the Girls (1999) and The Delicious Wolves (2001) set the tone, followed by Almost a Full Moon, Lover/Fighter, Treeful of Starling and Between the Beautifuls, albums that shift between electric impulses and stripped-back clarity.

Beyond his own records, Workman has produced and co-written for Canadian peers such as Sarah Slean, Serena Ryder and Hey Rosetta!, and ventured into music-theatre with Songs from the God That Comes in 2013. More recent albums Old Cheetah (2015) and Median Age Wasteland (2019) extend this melodic path, where tender ballads sit alongside tighter, nervier cuts. On stage, he moves easily across these phases, from hushed storytelling to full-band release.
