Info
Formed in Toronto’s independent scene in the mid-80s, Blue Rodeo centers on the songwriting and vocal tandem of Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor. Their sound blends country rock, folk and melodic pop, built on close harmonies, wide-open guitars and stories that trace relationships and North American landscapes. Early records like Outskirts (1987), Diamond Mine (1989), Casino (1990) and Lost Together (1992) set the foundation, while Five Days in July (1993) leaned into a warmer acoustic palette. The group has kept that balance over time, from the richer arrangements of Palace of Gold (2002) and The Things We Left Behind (2009) to 1000 Arms (2016) and Many A Mile (2021), shifting naturally between electric energy and pared-back writing with the Cuddy/Keelor dialogue at the core.
Blue Rodeo plays Grey Eagle, 3777 Grey Eagle Drive, Calgary, on August 5, 2026. An all-ages date that draws from across their catalogue, with the band moving fluidly between road-tested rockers and quieter, folk-tinged songs.
