Info

Alan Doyle brings his Newfoundland folk-rock songs to Massey Hall on March 16, 2026, at 178 Victoria Street, Toronto. First known as the voice and guitarist of Great Big Sea, he’s built a solo catalog that keeps the Atlantic pulse close while opening to broader pop and rock textures. He leans on stories from coastal life, tight choruses and acoustic-to-electric arrangements, pulling from Boy on Bridge, So Let’s Go, A Week at the Warehouse, and the EPs Rough Side Out and Back to the Harbour. The set moves between ballads, reels-inspired passages and straight-ahead rock.

Special guests The East Pointers extend the Maritimes thread. The Prince Edward Island trio blend fiddle, banjo and guitar across reels, jigs and modern folk writing, shifting between instrumentals and songs. From Secret Victory and What We Leave Behind to Yours To Break, they explore a balance between tradition and contemporary forms, with recent live sets reflecting a reconfigured lineup after 2022. Coastal stories, bright rhythms and close-knit interplay set the tone for the show.
