Lil Texas brings a high-velocity take on hardcore to Toronto, sitting somewhere between US club energy and European gabber. Starting out in bass and club sounds before pushing into extreme tempos, he shaped the Texcore tag: rapid kicks, direct structures and stripped melodies that nod to trance and pop. On stage, his sets move fast through original tracks and hardcore reworks, folding 90s rave accents into present-day club pressure. Also on the bill, Maul arrive from Fargo with a death metal approach rooted in an old-school edge, shaded by doom, slam and hardcore. Formed in the mid-2010s, the band has shaped a sound built on thick riffs, heavy mid-tempos and cavernous vocals, broken up by sudden accelerations and repetitive, crushing grooves. Their 2022 album Seraphic Punishment set the template for their live attack: direct, weighty and tuned for the DIY circuit.
