On 21 May 2026 at L'Olympia in Paris, Rodrigo y Gabriela celebrate the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, released in 2006. The Mexican acoustic guitar duo returns to the starting point that launched their career on stages around the world.

From the outset, the project imposed itself with a clear fusion of classic rock, heavy metal and Latin rhythms. Released in Ireland, their adopted country, the album went straight to number one—a first for an instrumental record on the Irish charts.

The record opened the way to an international audience, reaching the top half of the Billboard 200 in the United States. It features landmark compositions such as "Tamacún" and "Ixtapa", as well as reinterpretations of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" and Metallica's "Orion", where the energy of metal is transposed into string dialogues and percussive hits on the guitar body.

Since then, Rodrigo y Gabriela have spent two decades touring and recording, capped by a 2020 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album. At L'Olympia in Paris, they revisit this foundational repertoire and its evolution, with the syncopated, precise playing that has become their hallmark.
