Thaïs « Fille de joie »

Thaïs returns with Fille de joie, a one-woman show in which she dissects the great family circus. At 33, single, childless and working intermittently in the performing arts, she turns her struggles into material for laughter: obligatory family gatherings, impulse-related phobias, allergies that flare up at the worst moments, skin that reacts to everything and red hair that draws comments. She unfolds an evening of clan life featuring a vegan cousin, a father in the throes of a revelation, a very self-assured mother and an uncle who brings the mood crashing down—complete with those secrets that always surface at the worst possible time. Rather than talk about it on a therapist’s couch, she opts for the stage and pulls at the threads of our bonds—those that stick, that itch, and that sometimes reconcile.
