Yann Tiersen

Yann Tiersen will stop by L'Echonova Saint-Avé on April 10, 2026 for a solo performance in which the piano converses with electronics. On stage, the Ouessant-born musician unfolds a clear sonic thread, alternating keyboard motifs, synthetic textures and delicate pulses, in continuity with his recent explorations. This concert accompanies the release of his new album, Rathlin from a Distance | The Liquid Hour, issued on PIAS, and offers a direct rendition of it conceived for the concert hall.

Rathlin from a Distance | The Liquid Hour is presented in two distinct but connected parts, each with its own sonic signature. Tiersen weaves together acoustic and electronic elements, playing on contrasts between intimate resonances and more collective movements. The album marks a new stage in his trajectory, while retaining the melodic grounding that runs through his work. In concert, the pared-back setup emphasizes gesture, space and the gradual construction of the pieces, allowing the transitions, ruptures and breaths that shape this new material to emerge.
