Info
The Fo’Plafonds turn the ordinary into music. On April 23, 2026, they will set down their joyful jumble at La Comète Saint-Étienne. Their playground takes the form of an imaginary street—a nod to Eugène Poubelle—where everything is meant to be listened to: sidewalks, signs, metal boxes, springs and bits of plastic serve as reservoirs of sound. Nothing is thrown away, everything is put together: pipes, cans and hardware become makeshift instruments, an orchestra of reclaimed objects calibrated to the millimeter. For them, noise is sorted, adjusted and measured; it becomes pitch, motif and rhythm.
We learn to listen differently: a leaking pipe turns into a melody, a sheet of metal suggests the bass, a bicycle marks the beat. The Fo’Plafonds compose on the spot with whatever the city puts within reach, combining DIY precision with collective energy. The audience moves through the space, ears alert, eyes surprised by sounds we usually overlook. Step into their makeshift workshop, follow the mechanics, and let these instruments born of reclaimed materials redraw the soundscape for the length of a concert.
