Bernard Mabille returns to the stage with a show that brings the face-to-face into sharper focus. More intimate, freer, he writes in step with the news he has been scrutinizing for years. A former collaborator of Coluche, a writer for Le Luron and a regular voice on Les Grosses Têtes, the comedian rediscovers his favourite playground: words and their slip-ups, political language, pithy one-liners and the twisted lines of reasoning that punctuate our days. There’s no unnecessary set, but a knowingly chansonnier-style mechanism: observation, a sense of rhythm, and punchlines that land cleanly. Between confidences and tirades, he allows himself the words we no longer always dare to say, to depict the times without superfluous filters.
