System of a Down

System of a Down performs at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis on July 2, 2026. Born in Los Angeles, the quartet Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan have forged an immediately identifiable sound: angular riffs, abrupt rhythmic breaks, a tight bass-and-drums interplay and a voice that shifts from whisper to scream in an instant. Their lyrics, shaped by their Armenian roots and a direct political gaze, upend the conventions of a metal that is open to punk, folk and warped melodies. On stage, the band alternates sharp surges, catchy choruses and unpredictable turns, with a precision that lets just enough chaos surface. The albums Toxicity, Mezmerize and Hypnotize have produced tracks that have become fixtures of their concerts: Chop Suey!, B.Y.O.B., Aerials, Toxicity. Inside the Stade de France arena, Malakian’s guitar weaves with the compact rhythm section while Tankian explores multiple vocal timbres, for a taut, direct set that gets straight to the point.
