Julien Santini

Julien Santini cultivates a singular sense of humour, situated between stand-up and the absurd. A French comedian, he likes to bend the rules, sliding from an intimate anecdote to an improbable situation and blending improvisation with a taste for the offbeat. His material is everyday life and those little moments that snag, which he displaces with very free writing and a precise performance. With a mischievous look, pauses, ruptures and asides to the audience, he constructs a shifting narrative in which one moves from a confidence to an embraced nonsense, without ever losing the thread. You hear his obsessions, contradictions and urges to digress, like a notebook left open on stage.
