Led by Janine Cathrein’s voice and songwriting, Black Sea Dahu moves between folk and acoustic pop with a strong sense of storytelling. The band returns with a second album, I Am My Mother, which builds on several EPs and follows their debut full-length White Creatures from 2018. It features understated songs, melodies that settle in slowly, and intimate lyrics designed for the stage and to let the music breathe. Cathrein leads the project surrounded by a close-knit core of musicians, where guitars and vocal harmonies provide the framework.
