Info
Cornelius brings his Refractions North American Tour to Toronto on April 10, 2027, at The Opera House, for a live set that sits right on the edge between pop songwriting and sound experiment. Behind the name is Tokyo musician Keigo Oyamada, active since the late ’80s, first as part of Shibuya-kei touchstone Flipper’s Guitar and then through a solo run that keeps reshaping itself from record to record.
On stage, expect meticulous rhythm work, sharp edits, and that signature mix of guitars, electronics, and chamber-pop detail, with detours into ambient space, bossa-flavored harmonies, and psychedelic textures. From the dense collage feel of Fantasma to the cleaner, more spacious approach of Point, Sensuous, Mellow Waves, and Dream in Dream, Cornelius’ music keeps moving while staying instantly recognizable: playful, precise, and deeply focused on sound design.
