Info
On July 18, 2027, at The Piece Hall in Halifax, Bananarama bring their “Too Hot to Handle Greatest Hits Summer Tour 2027” for a night built around the pop and dance side of their story. From the early London post‑punk connections to the slicker new wave and hi‑NRG years, the set naturally leans on the big choruses and club-ready pulse that made them a staple: “Cruel Summer”, “Shy Boy”, “I Heard a Rumour”, “Love in the First Degree”, “Venus”. Led for decades by Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward, it’s a chance to hear how those bright hooks still hit when they’re played loud, in sequence, with the momentum of a proper hits show.
Altered Images join the bill, bringing that Glasgow blend of post‑punk edges and melodic new wave pop associated with “Happy Birthday” and the early‑80s run that followed.
Tony Hadley is also on the lineup, revisiting the smooth pop and soul ballad side of his career, from the Spandau Ballet era to his later solo work, with the kind of voice made for big singalong refrains.
