On March 27, 2027, Bonobo performs at Paris's Salle Pleyel with “Distance in Static,” a date that highlights his art of electronic chiaroscuro, balancing supple rhythms and melodies that unfurl. Behind this name, Simon Green continues what he has been building since the late 1990s: music where downtempo, trip-hop and nu-jazz meet more organic arrangements, with strings and brass at the fore, and that meticulous attention to detail that builds tension without ever forcing it.
On stage, Bonobo balances listening and energy in a format designed to breathe: hushed bass lines, expansive textures, and a prominent emphasis on vocals, in keeping with his albums from Days to Come to Black Sands, through to the more recent evolutions of Migration and Fragments.
